Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Nine Years.
What is your primary product or service?
Design and production of stained glass windows and repair.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I purchased my first book on the subject of stained glass more than forty years ago. As I paged through the book, I thought to myself how cool it would be to create a stained glass window someday. For more than twenty years, I pursued interests in architecture and sculpture. Then in 1998, I finally had the opportunity to take my first stained glass class. I've created stained glass pieces ever since. I have been fortunate to study under and become acquainted with several world renowned glass artists in the time since my first class. In 2008, I turned Pro. I specialize in using cold and warm glass techniques and traditional painting techniques to bring a feeling of dimensionality to my personal art work that is absent in what is typically referred to as stained glass.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
The entire focus of the business is supplying architects, designers, builders and private clients with a superior stained glass product designed and built, or restored, specifically to their desires. We do not dilute our efforts by operating a retail store front with the purpose of selling supplies or teaching general classes. I will go to any means to provide the service demanded by the client at the maximum possible level of quality. Sometime this requires research and experimentation to develop new techniques to achieve the desired outcome. All of that is just another day in the studio at Klade Werks.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I currently have one location.

What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
The sound of awe inspired silence as the client looks up at their new or restored window.
